Ladies & Gentlemen of PhillyMINI,
Have you ever tried to sign up for a rally only to find it is “full”? What about wishing there were more rallies in a motoring season? Ever loved an end point location so much you wanted to go back? Well here is your chance:
All joking aside, PhilyMINI is a wonderful club/organization run 100% by volunteers. Without those dedicated people we couldn’t run all the fun events you see on our calendar. We have a great group of leaders, sweepers and marshals that always sign up to help with rallies but we always need more.
More leaders, sweepers and marshals mean more room for cars on rallies that would otherwise fill up fast. Having more help could potentially open up some new and old rallies to return to the schedule as well.
Being a leader, sweeper or Marshall means you get to test drive rallies more than once with fewer cars to slow you down. Not to mention the extra laughs you get hanging out with other leaders, sweepers and marshals.
PhillyMINI Leader/Sweeper School:
This has never been offered before and is a great opportunity for those who wanted to try being a leader, sweeper or Marshall but never knew if they could handle it.
All you need is to be a PhillyMINI member (paid membership) for one year, a free day, a radio, a Garmin or Phone with (OSM AND installed) and a full tank of gas!
On Monday September 7, 2020 we will be holding an informal basic training session with q&a covering all the basic instincts needed to be a leader, sweeper or Marshall. After Q&A session we will have a short rally loop/route for everyone to try leading/sweeping/Marshall at least once. We will have seasoned leaders and sweepers on hand to instruct on the fly. It will be a fun day of learning and driving.
Once you do this, you will be added to a special forum for Leaders, Sweepers and Marshalls only and given access to the dry run calendar. New leaders, sweepers and marshals will start out as marshals and sweepers until they are comfortable leading.
